Hey lovely quilters, happy Friday to you all! How has your week been? Mine has flown by again, leaving me wishing everything would slow down a little. I’m dreaming of beach holidays, warm sunshine, sandy feet, and icy cold pina coladas!
To celebrate Summer in the Northern Hemisphere our Friday Favourites are the Fishy Fishy Fishy, Little Mermaids, Spring Fling, and Denim & Daisies patterns. We’ve also taken 20% off our Little Mermaid pins.
I’m devastated to report that my brain still isn’t functioning as it should. Trauma’s a b*tch. The desire to work is there, I’m designing like crazy and have several dozen projects in the queue, but I can’t untangle my brain enough to convert them to fabric. The weirdest part is I have total clarity when it comes to writing the patterns and doing the math. Go figure.
I’m getting help for my brain tangle, I’ll be back to being me soon I hope. In the meantime a huge sincere thanks to everyone for your kindness.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic weekend, toni xx
$4 for the PDF patterns, $11.50 including postage for the printed patterns, and $15 plus postage for the two Little Mermaid Pins. These a great stocking stuffers!
Our latest free pattern “Scrappy Bears” is available for download from our Freebies page. Did you know we have a whole page dedicated to freebies? Pop on over and have a look, there’s a great selection to choose from. Simply click on the photos to download the files.I’m still muddling along and feeling a bit out of sorts. I’m not feeling particularly creative which always feeds my anxiety and leads to a lot of frustration. I know everyone is a little over snowmen right now, but I’ve been playing with these guys this week. They were in my scrap bin and I thought I’d resurrect them. Never fear the cows are still on my worktable ha ha!
Okay I have to go and change the sheets on the beds before the weather turns gloomy and wet again. Then think of dinner. Then maybe, maybe I’ll get to do some sewing ha ha! Enjoy your weekend everyone, toni xx
I’m bored with being sick and I needed something to do while I was Netflix-ing and letting the antibiotics kick in. Mermaid Tales needed rebinding, so Ms Janome and I did some sneaky sewing. No-one was home to stop me, the fun police were at work and school LOL. It really only took half an hour to do I promise. I’m not good at doing nothing, it drives me crazy.
The mermaid dolls are from the Happy Quilts book, are easy to make, and match this quilt perfectly. I always link you to Amazon, but I’ve been told that Amazon are charging Australian customers anything up to $50 for the book plus postage. You can find Happy Quilts here at Book Depository for around Aud$26 with free postage.
Five Dollar Friday is back and A Mermaid’s Tale is on special in our Etsy store for $5 (plus applicable taxes) until Monday (my time – AEST).
You can buy the pattern directly from me, if you prefer, by using the buy now buttons below. I will email the PDF pattern to you, so please keep in mind differences in time zones. Thanks.
I’ve put the PRINTED pattern on sale too for Aud$12 including postage. I love how WordPress now allows me to put a simple shop on here now!
Dinner is ready and all joking aside I’m tired and I’m wheezing, so it’s time to call it quits for the night. Take care, toni xx
He’s a nerdy Moose and he’s in our Etsy store tonight. Henry the Moose is a hard enamel pin.
– Approx. length – 3 cm (1 inch) and width – 2.5cm
– Metal + enamel pin – Gunmetal metal detailing.
– Smooth shiny surface.
– Glitter antlers and suspenders.
– Henry has a butterfly clasp.
A Mermaid’s Tale is in our Etsy store tonight too for the special introductory price (PDF) of $5. I’m sorry about the terrible photograph, it’s much nicer in real life. I’ll take more photos when the plumbers and electricians have finished in the house.
Remember the hot water system blow-out? Well it’s caused some major issues, and we are replacing the plumbing and some wiring throughout the whole house. The disruption and mess is huge and I think I may actually faint at the bill :oP
The house is almost 60 years old, so it had to be done eventually. The catastrophic failure just happened sooner than we had hoped LOL.
Have a great weekend everyone, toni xx
Ps. The free dollhouse quilt will be available this weekend too.
I’m almost done with the mermaids. They remind of a string of paper dolls, bright, fun, colourful. I’ll have the quilt done tonight and the pattern ready sometime mid-week.
We’re still without hot water. Strangely hubby and I are enjoying the austerity of bathing from a bucket of water. It’s startling how little water you need to get really clean. The main pain in the toosh is boiling the water on the stove first.
I’m taking it one day at a time. My stress levels are such that I can’t turn off my fight or flight response. It’s a bit scary but we’re working on it. I’d love to move out of suburbia, maybe to a cottage in the country. Maybe have some cows and ducks and geese, dogs and cats, and no scary neighbours LOL.
Have a great week everyone, mid-week for the mermaids and the free doll house quilt pattern. xx
