How has your week been? Mine’s been pretty mundane and I haven’t been near the sewing machine for days. I’m a little stuck to be honest which is a good sign that I need a few days off to re-set my creative brain. I think a little fabric shopping might go a long way to helping though :o>
Halloween is fast approaching and we have a number of free projects for you to download thanks to the lovelies at Thermoweb the makers of my favourite fusible webbing, HeatnBond Lite. You can find the patterns here.

In keeping with the Halloween theme, the ‘Little Witches’ doll pattern is on special in our Etsy store this weekend. You can grab the PDF pattern for $4 and the printed pattern for $11.50 until Monday. The dress, cape, and hat are removable. These would have to be my favourite dolls, so easy to make and they look gorgeous with their bubblegum hair. Recently Kate and I have been documenting the orchids in our trees and gardens. If we manage to sell the house we want to take them with us, some of them are nearing 50 years old and I would hate for them to be destroyed by the new owner/developer. Aren’t they pretty. We have several different varieties of orchids naturalised in the trees and gardens, they love the macadamia nut trees in particular. It’s going to be hard finding them all.Enjoy your weekend everyone, I hope you manage to get some time off to relax, toni xx
A big CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our Halloween giveaway. I have contacted everyone today. Thank you all for entering, it was a wonderful response.
Congrats to Alison who won our Red Boots Gang Therm O Web giveaway, to Heidi who won the Therm O Web gift voucher, to Robyn, Lesley, Dimity, Michelle, Maria, and De who won a Therm O Web sample pack, and to Carol Ann and Erin who won a Henry pin.
Thanks guys, love you all, toni xx
Happy Halloween lovely people! Did you have any trick or treaters call? It was very, very quiet in our neighbourhood. All the more treats for us LOL.
Don’t forget to download your free Halloween projects courtesy of the lovely folk at Therm-0-Web.
There are multiple projects on the “Free Patterns” page. Simply use the menu at the top of the page to navigate the site.
I’ve been working on the pugs and a new cloth doll pattern. I’ve just finished stuffing the doll only to find that the head shape has distorted and she looks, umm, kinda weird LOL. Back to the drawing board. There is zero reason for the distortion, I must’ve pushed and pulled a bit too much when I was stuffing her and stretched the fabric :o<
The Little Witches 2 doll pattern in our Etsy store for the special Halloween price of $5.00 (plus any local taxes payable) for the next 48 hours. These guys are so easy to make, you could sew a coven of witches in a weekend.
Have a fantastic night, toni xx
Are you ready for a spooky sleepover? This quilt-quillow was designed specifically for the little humans that we all love. The pumpkins are friendly, the colours are bright, and it’s perfect for a Halloween sleepover.
A Spooky Sleepover is brought to you for free by the lovely people at Therm-o-Web, the company that makes my favourite brand of fusible webbing, Heat-n-Bond Lite.
The quilt folds up and into a pillow cover which is large enough to fit a cushion and a pair of pajamas.
You can download the file here- Spooky Sleepover Epattern
I’ve also made a quick and easy mug rug pattern using the pumpkin template. Peggy Pumpkin Mug Rug is available here – Peggy Pumpin ePattern
You can also download the free Ghosts & Ghouls pattern here – GhostsGhouls ePattern
I’ve updated the Little Witches pattern. Little Witches 2 is now available in our Etsy store for the special price of Aud$5 plus appropriate state/country/county taxes.
There will be some giveaways to go with this free pattern, but I’m running late with my deadline and I wanted to get the pattern up asap. I’ll be back early next week with details of the giveaway and maybe another free project.
** Disclaimer: I’m a brand ambassador for Therm-o-Web and I’m paid to promote their products. However, I don’t promote anything I don’t think is a great product. I use large quantities of HeatnBond Lite in my day to day work and have done for several years.
Hi y’all, I’m running late with today’s release of the “Spooky Sleepover” pattern. The pattern is ready to go but I’m having trouble getting a clear photo. We’ve had a week of rain, which is great because it’s been in short supply around here lately, but it’s means mud, lots and lots of mud.
I’ll try again tomorrow and have it uploaded tomorrow night.
I’ve given the “Little Witches” pattern a makeover, nothing much has changed, a longer leg and slightly different hair. It will be uploaded tomorrow too – it’s our Five Dollar Friday pattern. If you already have the pattern, simply add 4 – 5in to the length of the leg and the hair is rectangles of fabric tied in knots. The updated pattern will be available tomorrow (as soon as I navigate the mud!).
Happy Friday lovelies, it’s time for a decaf, a cookie, and sleep! xx
I’m playing with the Little Witches pattern…
After a few missteps I finally got the binding on the pumpkin quilt today. Every so often I make such a mess of things the only solution is to sit down and grab the unpicker!
The “Spooky Sleepover” quilt pattern will be available on Friday and the best news is it’s FREE! The lovelies at Therm-O-Web are sponsoring the project.
The quilt folds up into a easy-to-carry pocket. There’s room for a small pillow and pajamas too! It’s the perfect sleepover kit for Halloween.
I’ll have a heap of giveaways to celebrate the release too, so stay tuned! xx
Ps. you can make this project as a normal quilt, you don’t have to add the pillow pocket.
Camp Grizzly is now available in our Etsy store for the special introductory price of $5.00 (plus appropriate taxes).
Don’t like using Etsy? WordPress is allowing us to put simple Paypal stores on our sites now *huzzah*.
It doesn’t allow a download option however and I will have to email your patterns to you. This will take anything up to 12 hours depending on time zones etc. Remember I may be asleep when you’re awake!
Click on the ‘Buy Direct PDF Patterns‘ or the ‘Buy Direct Printed Patterns‘ menu buttons at the top right of the page. I haven’t uploaded all the patterns yet. This is a bit of an experiment.
Halloween pumpkins are on the menu this week. It’s my turn to make a free project for the lovelies at Therm-o-Web. I’m loving these wacky pumpkin dudes!
Happy Monday peeps, toni xx
