Hi y’all, how has your week been? Did you get any time to do something fun? My three are back at University this week and I’m back in the car driving between work, home, the train station, and Uni several times a day.
Our Scrappy Snowmen quilt is just about ready. I wanted to release it tonight, but I’d rather take an extra day to make sure everything is right first. I’ll try and get it listed tomorrow. It’s quick and fun and above all, happy. We all need a bit of happy in our lives these days don’t we, the world has gone mad.Are any of you watching the Tour de France? Are you sitting, heart in mouth, watching Peter Sagan struggle to keep up with the race like us? We were lucky to be able to travel to France a few years ago to watch the Tour ride into Paris. It was the middle of a heatwave, the riders were amazing, and walking home via the Louvre at midnight was magical.
With the change in rules and algorithms on Facebook and Instagram it’s becoming hard to get noticed and that makes it hard to earn enough money to keep going. It’s very frustrating and unfortunately I’m seeing many friends closing their businesses. I’m still good but I need to find new ways of marketing my work – otherwise I won’t be!
Do you have or know of a Quilt Guild magazine that takes adverts? Do you have a favourite magazine that you can recommend advertising in – both online and in print? What about quilt forums that allow advertising? Please message me with any recommendations.
The cows are still on my worktable. I put them aside while I looked for a good background fabric. I think I’ve found some and I’m hoping to get to Peppermint Stitches this weekend. Once I get the background fabric sorted Bob’s your Uncle.
Do you have that saying where you live? It’s a bit like ‘she’ll be right mate’ which is very Australian :o> It’s always a bit of a joke in our house, my FIL’s name was Bob LOL.
Don’t forget to sign-up to win this month’s Giveaway. This months giveaway will include a brand new reusable cup from the lovelies at KeepCup plus a pack of HeatnBond Lite and a pack of HeatnBond Fusible Interfacing from the fabulous folk at Thermoweb. You can find the details on how to enter on our giveaway page. We have a cupboard full of KeepCups, most coffee shops accept them, and it takes all those one-use plastic cups out of the environment (no sponsorship, I pay for most of these prizes myself).
Have a lovely weekend everyone. I need to do some serious housekeeping, the dust bunnies are huge and the mess is unspeakable. We won’t mention the mountain of washing that is threatening to take over the laundry. I swear it’s breeding! xx
Our little Scrappy Bears mini quilt pattern is all done and now uploaded. This little sweetie measures 27 1/2in square and is the perfect scrap bin project.
The best bit is that it’s free thanks to the lovelies at Thermoweb. Simply click on the photo below to download the pattern.
For some extra fun add some grumpy grizzly bear teeth from our Camp Grizzly pattern. You could also replace the stars with daisies to give it some flower power!
We have (4) packs of HeatnBond EZ-Print Lite to giveaway this weekend thanks to the lovelies at Thermoweb. Simply leave a comment on this post, or on our Facebook page telling me what your favourite bear is to win. Winners drawn Monday.
Don’t forget our June Thermoweb giveaway, there are only a few days left before I draw the winner. You can find out entry details here.
Lastly, Etsy is having a Birthday Sale this week. Pop on over to grab a bargain, everything including our enamel pins are 10% off.
Have a fantastic weekend lovelies, toni xx
Hi y’all, I was hoping to get this uploaded tonight but I’ve had to do a hard reboot on my computer and it took most of the day. Don’t ya just love technology LOL.
I’ll have it uploaded late tomorrow morning instead. It’s a teeny little fun wall-hanging measuring just 27 1/2in square, and it’s brought to you by the lovelies at Thermoweb (the makers of my favourite fusible webbing).
Of course you can go crazy and stitch heaps of these little blokes to make a much larger quilt.
I’ve also included HeatnBond EZ-Print templates to the pattern so you can print your templates directly to this fantastic product. I’ve got (4) packs of HeatnBond EZ-Print to giveaway and I’ll let you know the details tomorrow.

We’ve had a crazy busy week. Hubby is on hols and we are sanding and painting the exterior of our home. The hardwood weatherboards have 60 years worth of paint on them. It’s not a fun task, but when we tested out the dark grey exterior paint today (on the bit we sanded and primed) it looked fantastic.
We also found some water damage behind our bath so we’ve had to pull the walls off the bathroom. It never ends does it!? #moneypit
I’m hoping to get some new projects started this week, but I need a trip to Peppermint Stitches to re-stock my stash of background fabrics before I sink my teeth into anything new. I have a tendency to work backwards, thus working myself into a frustrating corner. While I’m waiting to buy new fabric I’ve been making some scrappy Shoofly blocks.
It’s nearly midnight again, so I’m going to say nite and wish you all a happy weekend. I’ll upload that pattern file tomorrow. toni xx
Ps. Look what we managed to do, Happy Quilts is out of stock on Amazon!

and all through the house not a creature was stirring… because we’re all knackered! Five days of 2am finishes – I’m telling you I’m too old for this. Only two more days to go and we can sleep all day Christmas day LOL.
Have you done all of your Christmas shopping and organised your Christmas dinner? We will be picking up our turkey on Saturday. Both Kate, Rem (our cat) and I love turkey. And gravy. Lots and lots of gravy.
I was going to write a big Christmassy blog post but it’s 12.40am and I have another 20 minutes to go before I have to pick up Kel from work. Instead I’ll pop some leftovers in the oven for her dinner, turn down the lights, and have a game of Mahjong to keep me awake. Happy Friday, toni xx
I did the draw for the Thermoweb giveaway (Facebook). Congratulations to Kathy for winning the $25 gift voucher. Thermoweb have some amazing products and I’m proud to be associated with them.
Hi y’all, the lovelies at Thermoweb have sent us a $25 gift voucher for (1) lucky winner. Pop on over to our Facebook page to win. All you have to do is leave a comment (Merry Christmas will do the trick) to go in the draw. Prize drawn Friday, 22nd December, 2017.
You can download the free Santa Sack pattern HERE. Have a merry week-before-Christmas everyone! toni xx
Hi y’all, how was your weekend? I spent mine working off a case of the Christmas-time blues. We jumped in the car first thing Saturday morning, drove to the South side of the city and picked up our Christmas ham, went plant shopping, and bought some Korean Soju (Sake). Oh, and I found some chocolate coated coffee beans that are so divinely delicious I can’t stop eating them!
Then I re-potted our cactus, divided the succulents, dug up and transplanted an heirloom rose, and generally got hot and sweaty. I think it did the trick, I’m feeling a lot better tonight.
I had hoped to get the ‘My Family’ pattern finished on Friday, but I didn’t (obviously LOL). At this stage I’m thinking tomorrow night or sometime Tuesday. This pattern will absorb the ‘Best Friends’ pattern and have the added instructions for a dad, little brother, little sister, and baby dolls. They are quick, easy to make, and loads of fun. I’m thinking of adding some moustache shapes to the pattern for Dad LOL.
As a thank you for all your support during 2017 I am doing an end of year Christmas giveaway, the prize being the ‘Wild Things’ quilt from my ‘Happy Quilts’ book. Amazon is out-of-stock of the book, but Book Depository still has copies. Details about the giveaway to come…
Did I tell you I recently received my first royalty cheque for the book? Almost three years after I first started writing it, I got a cheque for $97. $97 for a full year’s work ROFLOL. The funniest bit is that the cheque bounced!! It took too long getting to me via snail mail, so it was cancelled. No, actually the funniest bit (or most depressing depending on how you look at it) was that the bank took a $25 fee for processing it, so I’m actually -$25 out of pocket ROFLOL.
I hope you all have a fantastic week-to-come. I hope that all of you who live in SoCal are safe from the fires. We’re all thinking of you. Stay safe, toni xx

Hi and welcome to Day 12 of our Christmas in July promotion.
I’m spreading these days out a little bit, some of you were getting a bit cranky with me spamming your inboxes. Oops.
Today’s super-specials are the Catnip and Scrappy Cats quilt patterns. They are both on special for $4 each in our Etsy store.
I have (1) copy of each of the patterns to giveaway to (3) lucky winners today plus (1) pack of HeatnBond Stretch. Simply fill out your details below to enter, please remember to let me know where you are from.
Congratulations to Simone, Melissa, and Sharon who have each won a copy of the Desert Flowers, Boot-n-Skoot, High Noon, Farmhouse Daisies, The Wild West, Campfire Quilts, and Barn Stars quilt patterns. And to Robin who won the $30 Therm-o-Web gift vouchers. I’ve emailed/messaged you all.
My new quilt, REINDEER GAMES, is off to be quilted. The pattern will be released soon. I could not get my maths right tonight, every time I added 39 + 4 my brain answered 42 1/2! LOL. There was some swearing, some unpicking, some fudging, but I’m loving those Churn Dash reindeer blocks.
Happy Wednesday everyone, toni xx
