We’ve also put together a preview of the quilt (so far) for you. It should help you make a few colour choices and decisions. Please note that this is for illustration purposes only. The sun isn’t fused to the quilt yet and you shouldn’t sew the blocks together as yet.
A big CONGRATULATIONS to Karen T. who is the winner of this month’s Therm-o-Web giveaway. Enter this month’s giveaway by leaving a comment on this post telling me your favourite candy or snack food.

You’ll be pleased to know (I hope) that I’m getting some sewing done. It’s been extraordinarily hard getting back to it and I have a massive backlist of quilts to make. I truly hope that the second half of the year will be more productive than the first.
I have a box of luscious flannels to play with and I feel like making a big, squishy bear quilt.Never fear the gnomes are still on the cutting table too.
Well that’s it from me, my brain has suddenly decided not to work *sigh* and I know not to push myself when it does this. Much love to all, toni xx

Notes! The quilt will measure approx. 64 1/2in x 64 1/2in when finished. This is subject to small changes.
I’ve given basic fabric requirements for the first (9) blocks which make up the centre of the quilt in the first set of instructions.
Hey guys, I’ve been a little absent on social media (and here) lately. 2018 was a hectic year and I needed an extended break. I’m finally starting to feel myself again and it’s time to get back to work.
Our piggy BOM will be starting soon. Details to come.
My poor sewing machine needs a service, the stitches are starting to get a little ratty. Can anyone recommend a service centre on the northside of Brisbane? I was using the guys at Everton Park but last time I was there they asked me did I have my husband’s permission to buy a new machine and I swore I wouldn’t go back.
I’ll get the pattern done for the dog quilt this week too. I need to take a photo and you know how much I hate that part of the process LOL.
Have a fab week lovelies, toni xx
Ps. Happy Quilts is still available in some book stores. Grab a copy before they are gone :o)

How has your week been? Mine’s been pretty mundane and I haven’t been near the sewing machine for days. I’m a little stuck to be honest which is a good sign that I need a few days off to re-set my creative brain. I think a little fabric shopping might go a long way to helping though :o>
Halloween is fast approaching and we have a number of free projects for you to download thanks to the lovelies at Thermoweb the makers of my favourite fusible webbing, HeatnBond Lite. You can find the patterns here.
Ghosts and Ghouls
Peggy Pumpkin Mug Rug
In keeping with the Halloween theme, the ‘Little Witches’ doll pattern is on special in our Etsy store this weekend. You can grab the PDF pattern for $4 and the printed pattern for $11.50 until Monday. The dress, cape, and hat are removable. These would have to be my favourite dolls, so easy to make and they look gorgeous with their bubblegum hair. Recently Kate and I have been documenting the orchids in our trees and gardens. If we manage to sell the house we want to take them with us, some of them are nearing 50 years old and I would hate for them to be destroyed by the new owner/developer. Aren’t they pretty. We have several different varieties of orchids naturalised in the trees and gardens, they love the macadamia nut trees in particular. It’s going to be hard finding them all.Enjoy your weekend everyone, I hope you manage to get some time off to relax, toni xx
Hey lovelies, I have wanted to do a mystery block of the month for a couple of years now. What do you think? Tell me what you’d like to see – a theme, an animal, a style.I’m looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions!
I did up my stats for the guys at Thermoweb (the makers of my fave fusible webbing HeatnBond Lite) and my free patterns were downloaded 28,626 times in July. Wow! I have you all to thank for those great numbers.
$4 for the PDF patterns, $11.50 including postage for the printed patterns, and $15 plus postage for the two Little Mermaid Pins. These a great stocking stuffers!
Our latest free pattern “Scrappy Bears” is available for download from our Freebies page. Did you know we have a whole page dedicated to freebies? Pop on over and have a look, there’s a great selection to choose from. Simply click on the photos to download the files.I’m still muddling along and feeling a bit out of sorts. I’m not feeling particularly creative which always feeds my anxiety and leads to a lot of frustration. I know everyone is a little over snowmen right now, but I’ve been playing with these guys this week. They were in my scrap bin and I thought I’d resurrect them. Never fear the cows are still on my worktable ha ha!
Okay I have to go and change the sheets on the beds before the weather turns gloomy and wet again. Then think of dinner. Then maybe, maybe I’ll get to do some sewing ha ha! Enjoy your weekend everyone, toni xx
