Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells…

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Die Hard is on the TV… giggle. Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie in our house. Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman in the same movie, what could be better!? Except maybe Clark Griswold.

The ‘Mrs Claus in a Bikini’ template has been uploaded to our free pattern page. Mrs Claus will fit the Christmas Apron pattern and the Here Comes Santa, Santa Sack pattern (Etsy).

The ‘Mr Claus in his Board Shorts’ template from the Santa Sack pattern will also fit the Apron pattern if you’d like to make a matching set of Summer Santa aprons.

You can download the apron pattern from the free patterns page here. Confused yet? LoL.

Please read the size guide instructions carefully. It’s very easy to resize the apron but I would recommend making a template to check your sizing before you begin, especially the top of the apron where it fits over your bust. Keep in mind that Aussie sizes are very different from US sizes.

No. 1 daughter is modelling the apron (whilst doing the dishes ha ha). She is wearing a medium sizing. I would strongly suggest making a paper or scrap fabric template to check your size before making the real thing.

The Mrs Claus in a Bikini template and Christmas Apron pattern will only be free for a couple of weeks so download them while you can. They will revert to being paid patterns in 2020.

Did you see the photos of the Godzilla Christmas tree in Japan? Isn’t it amazing. I love that it breathes smoke.

And on that note, it’s time for coffee and some down time before bed. My kids are arguing about space turkeys. I have no idea and I don’t intend to ask. The only turkey I’m interested in is one stuffed and served with cranberry sauce. Nite lovelies and Merry Christmas, toni xx

Tiny Little Reindeer

Hey y’all, our Tiny Little Reindeer and The Plum Pudding Bird ornament patterns are available again for download and they’re free! Simply click on the photos to download them.

The patterns have been updated and are ready to go! The tiny reindeer are approx. 3 1/2in x 5in. I’ve included a smaller template for those of you who want to go smaller!

The Plum Pudding Bird measures approx. 3in x 3 1/2in – you’re welcome to try and go smaller with this one too but you’ll have to resize it yourself. Use your print settings to resize the template to 90% of the actual size. xx

Merry & Bright Santa Sacks

Hi y’all, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates, I hope you had a wonderful day with your family and friends. I was just thinking, it’s been over 20 years since I had a slice of pumpkin pie, I think I’ll have to find a recipe and get baking.

A big thank you and hug to the lovelies at Therm-o-Web for their continuing support.

The Santa sacks have a ‘paper bag’ bottom which gives you more space for those odd shaped gifts and treats. They are really easy to make too. Sorry about the lousy photos, the constantly overcast weather makes it difficult to take a clear photo.

Miss 17 graduated from High School last week. My sweetie has all grown up :oD She’ll be at university (college) next year. Wow, where did the time go?

She’s had a rough week this week, we spent last night at the ER and she was sent home in the wee small hours with a diagnosis of pneumonia and a bag of antibiotics. I’m feeling pretty exhausted tonight so please forgive any mistakes in the Santa sack pattern!

We’re hoping for a relatively quiet weekend, No. 1 daughter is working the polling booths (State election) all day tomorrow and counting votes tomorrow night. I’m just hoping to catch up on some sleep LOL. Our crazy neighbours have caused a lot of trouble this week and broke into our house and car on Sunday.

Anyways, take care and have a lovely weekend, toni xx

It’s Five Dollar Friday!

Welcome to Five Dollar Friday! This week’s PDF patterns are Scrap Bin Sheep, Scrappy Alphabet, and Patchwork Elephants. The patterns will be available at this special price until Monday (AEST).

I did a quick stats check this week and our free patterns have been downloaded 26,088 times since January this year. Wow, that’s a lot of patterns and a lot of quilts. We’ll have a new free Christmas project courtesy of Therm-o-Web in a few weeks time, accompanied by another amazing giveaway.

I’m hoping to get to the sewing machine this weekend. This week has been incredibly busy family wise and I’ve not had time. When I did manage to grab a few minutes, I’ve totally botched everything I’ve touched LOL. Not an auspicious start to the Christmas season!

Did you know I’ve set up a Facebook group called “The Red Boot’s Gang” where you can hang out and share piccies and projects and stuff,

Pop on over and sign up, it’s still in it’s infancy but I’m hoping you will enjoy being there. You are welcome to chat about other projects (other than Red Boots) but I ask that you keep politics and religion out of the chat.

There will be giveaways and exclusives (starting in the New Year) so come on over and say Hi.
