Hey lovelies, how has your week been? It’s been a good week here, it’s amazing what NOT running on a (stress) fractured pelvis (plus painkillers) does for a girl ha ha!
I’ve managed to get a little sewing done, in between paying attention to the large ginger kitty who keeps getting in the way. It’s like he knows I’m not supposed to be doing much at the moment – his owner’s keeper? LOL.
The Patchwork Elephants pattern is our Four Dollar Friday special this weekend. You can find the PDF and printed patterns in our Etsy or Red Boots stores. A big thanks to Joan and Vicki for their beautiful project photos.
It’s actually been great having to slow down a little. I’ve been able to take a breath and think. In 2019 I’d like to run things along the lines of the “Happy Quilts” book. For each quilt a matching soft toy. I’d like to make a few ‘grown-up’ quilts too.
I’m not going to stress about the Christmas sales period. There will be a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale though. I think that starts next week, I’ll let you know when. In the meantime have a lovely weekend, I hope you get some happy sewing done! toni xx
Like I said to the lovelies on Facebook, you can slap me for saying that if you like. It really is a bit too early to mention the C word – unless you are planning on sewing handmade gifts of course!
With this in mind I’ve put our soft toy patterns on special this week. If you get started now you can easily make a whole family of dolls for your cuties for very little cost. You could make a little pillow and mini quilt to match each toy. Feel free to resize the templates from any of my patterns to suit. You could also make a matching tote bag to keep them in.
I’ve also put our Scrap Bin Sheep and Land Down Under quilt patterns on special. Same as always $4 for the PDF’s and $11.50 for the printed patterns.
Would you like me to make more easy-to-make soft toy and doll patterns? What about mug rug patterns, are they still a thing? What would you like to see?
I have quite literally spent all of my week chasing copyright infringements. There are a ton of people on Facebook and Instagram claiming my work as their own, as well as a couple of companies making products with my images on them. Some backpacks have shown up with my Wild Things critters on them.
I’ve decided the best way to deal with the Facebook and Instagrammers is to spam their posts with my details – I’ve picked up some new followers (hi!) – and then report them. If you come across them please just direct their followers to my page and then report the page (thank you). The companies I can prosecute!
Enjoy your weekend lovely people. I’m hoping to get some sewing done and to add a few thousand steps to my Fitbit count :o> toni xx
I heard a guy on TV say that to someone in parting… instead of goodbye, he said ‘happy everything’. I thought it was pretty cool.
I wanted to check in today and say ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ to everyone. We don’t do anything special, my kids asked me what I wanted and I said a French cheesecake. I may have eaten far too much… a slice for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea LOL. I hope you had a lovely day with your family. Extra hugs for those of you who do it tough today. I know a lot of you do.
We have a fabulous Mother’s Day giveaway here.
Amazon has my Happy Quilts book on super special at the moment. It’s as cheap as chips so pop on over and grab a copy before they’re all gone. I’m not sure whether the publisher will do a reprint – as far as I know, once they’re gone, they’re gone. It’s great value for money with (20) patterns included. If you don’t have a CD reader in your computer never fear toni is here. Message me and I’ll send you the PDF’s via email (with proof of purchase of course).
I’m off to the supermarket to find something for dinner. After 30 years I’ve run out of ideas. Whatever happened to that space age idea of the meal-in-a-pill? I could always have cheesecake ha!
Happy everything lovelies, toni xx
To celebrate Mother’s Day we’ve put our floral quilts plus the My Family Doll pattern/s on special this weekend.
* My Family Dolls, Desert Flowers quilt, Washday Daisies quilt, Denim & Daisies foundation pieced quilt, Tootsie quilt, Citrus Blossoms quilt, Farmhouse Daisies quilt, Bohemian Rhapsody quilt, Spring Fling quilt, and the Midnight Blue quilt patterns.
If you can share this post, please do. xx
Hi y’all, it’s $4 Friday!
The following quilt patterns are on special this week for $4 for the PDF and $11.50 for the printed pattern (excluding taxes). As always we offer free worldwide shipping on printed patterns.
The $4 Friday patterns, and the ‘A Pug’s Life’ pattern, will remain at the low prices until Monday AEST.
Last but not least, our giveaway prize for April consists of (1) copy of my Happy Quilts book and (1) pack of HeatnBond EZ-Print Lite – it’s HeatnBond fusible web that goes through your printer!
Pop on over to our webpage to find out how to enter.
That’s it from me this week. Have a fantastic weekend everyone, toni xx
I love how you can take a small handful of scraps, add a little time and love, and end up with this. How cute is she!?
This is the old Scrappy Bunnies pattern that I’m updating. The pattern is the same, I’m just updating the fabrics and photos. I added a pair of glasses to this bunny as an experiment and I love how she turned out. I’ll let you know when the updated pattern is ready – probs tomorrow.
I’ve also been working on simplifying the admin. side of the business (which takes up a good 70% of my time) so I can spend more time sewing and creating. One of the things decided on is $4 Friday. In 2018 “Four Dollar Friday” will be held every second week to coincide with our newsletter release.
Have a lovely week everyone, I’m determined to finish a quilt this week! toni xx
