I’ve spent the past couple of weeks happily sewing, it feels great to get back into the swing of things. I finished another quilt this week, the re-make of the very old ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’ quilt. This version is much, much better and will be available in the store sometime in the next couple of weeks.
The sloth quilt is back on the sewing table… I’ve been messing about with different blocks and layouts, it’s a difficult one to get right. I think I’m on the right track now. I’ll share more photos soon.
In bad news, postage has increased again, quite substantially, and this time I can’t absorb the costs or adjust prices to allow for it. What does this mean? the heck if I know, I’ll work something out.
Digital patterns are always affordable and work out cheaper in the long run even when printing them yourself. They are also instant – no waiting for our respective postal services to actually provide the service we’re paying them for.
The tri-folded printed patterns – no plastic cover – will still be available. These are great, you get a larger photo, and in most instances are the cheaper pre-printed option. There are a couple of the bigger patterns that just won’t fit into this envelope. Phooey, I’ll have to work something out there. I suppose I could offer a plastic cover for these, but it will have to be folded to fit the envelope (creases) and you will need to refold the pattern to fit (more creases).
Maybe I could offer multi-buys for the traditionally packaged ones? Like I said I’ll work it out. I spent months last year sorting out this nonsense and now we’re back at square one again. Grrrrr! I would just like to get some sewing done Australia Post!!!
Wholesale patterns will remain the same, they will continue to be traditionally packaged with plastic covers. I may have to increase postage prices and costs. It won’t be a substantial rise though, just enough so I’m not making a loss.
Okey-dokey, I’m done. It’s been a super long and tiring day. I’m heading to have a cuppa before I peel potatoes for dinner. Roast beef tonight *yummy*. Take care lovelies, I’ll let you know when these patterns are ready and what I decide to do about postage. Everything will remain the same until I do. Much love, toni xx
Ps. I’m aware that plastic and/or cellophane covers are not optimal for the environment but the industry is oddly conservative and won’t budge, in many instances, from this traditional style of packaging.
