My Favourite Things #13

Hi y’all, the next instalment of our Thermoweb sew-along is ready to go. You can find it on the sew-along page here. This week I’ve uploaded the templates for a boy with a cap, a rubber duck, and a panda. What an eclectic bunch!

We’re still battling the Covid beast, but we’ll get there in the end. Remy-the-Lion decided to throw a spanner in the works this morning and is currently at the vet. His thyroid has decided to go on the fritz. It never rains but pours around here lol.

Take care everyone, talk soon, toni xx

  1. Trying to keep up with this year’s SAL. So sorry to hear about your cat’s thyroid problem. We went through this. I’ve heard good results if you use the radioactive seeds, but there’s a lot of rules there, we were unable to use that method. Our vet gave us cream to put on the inside of her ear. When the problem progressed she felt like she was starving, she was a small cat she suddenly wanted to eat all the time and her bowel movements were more freq, smelled different in a bad way, and they also they puffed up. Our poor kitty “Spike” got thinner until we put her out of her suffering.
I’m not saying your cat will go thru what our Spike did. Medicine has evolved so besides radiation there are better meds. I just want you to be prepared. I wish someone would have told me the ending symptoms, I think I would have put her down earlier. … Robin

  2. Ugh! I feel for you! We had it “pouring” here last month. We were almost finished with a bathroom remodel that had been in the planning for several years when I discovered termites in my library built-in bookshelves. Had just barely finished having that treated and paid for when I discovered the pipe under my kitchen sink had been broken and there had been just enough water to ruin the cabinet and create mold without me noticing it. Mold remediation is not fun or cheap! 😬 Neither was replacing all the piping under the sink. Just when I thought that was all taken care of I discovered another leak and the whole faucet had to be replaced!
Our savings account is considerably skinnier this month and we haven’t even rebuilt the kitchen cabinet or fixed the bookshelves yet.
And all of this happened a month after my daughter moved in with her two kids and husband!

I’m sure In a few years we will be able to say “remember when?” and laugh about it all, but going through it is stressful!

Hang in there and feel better soon! And I hope your precious fur child is home with you soon, too!

  3. Hang in there, there is a silver lining in every cloud!!!! all will change soon guys
