Paper Doll Sew-Along #16

Hi lovely quilters, it’s time for the next instalment of our ThermoWeb Paper Doll Sew-Along. We also have a couple of bonus blocks this week. I had a request for an AFL (Australian Football League) player and a request for a doll with a beard and moustache. Click on the images below to download the files. You can find all of the files on the Paper Doll Sew-along page (see the site menu). It’s up to you to change the colours of the AFL player to suit your team. You will be able to make matching ‘fans’ by using the previously uploaded templates.

Some of you may have noticed that I have completely mixed up the order of the last few blocks. I have no idea what I did, I double and triple checked but I seem to have lost the ability to count properly. This doesn’t matter unless you’ve already sewn the blocks together. As soon as my quilt is back from the quilters I’ll be able to upload a full photo for you.

To be honest this quilt has been an all-consuming project, there have been so many requests for extra blocks and I hate to say no. I won’t be taking any more personal requests this year, I’ve got to the stage where I don’t have time for anything else. However there will be one more set of bonus blocks for Christmas – (1) Summer set and (1) Winter set with Santa and Christmas trees.

When I get more time I’ll upload more of the ‘requested templates’ for everyone to use.

Can you believe it’s the end of the year already and there are only (2) instalments to go!? I’m already planning next year’s fairytale themed paper doll quilt! If you have any ideas or requests for the fairytale quilt let me know now before I start sewing :o>

Over the past few weeks we’ve put a lot of hard work into getting the website sorted out. It’s looking nice don’t you think? We’ve also been given the opportunity to add a proper store to the site which is great news. I’ll let you know when I’ve got it up and running (you’ll still be able to buy from Etsy).

Well that’s it for me for tonight. I hope you’ve all been well. I’ve had a busy week – we’re rebuilding our front porch and stairs, in between painting the house and chasing very stubborn (nesting) scrub turkeys around the yard. The local flock of rainbow lorikeets have discovered our flowering macadamia nut trees and are entertaining us by fighting over the nectar. I love these guys, they are complete and utter clowns. Goodnight lovely people. Stay safe and well, toni xx
