      1. It is sew sew neat. Could you please give me stitch size and any hints to get mine that neat. Do you use Applique Stitch or Blanket Stitch.

      2. Hey Dee, I use the default stitch size for the larger shapes (2.5/2.5) and I go one size smaller for the smaller shapes (2.0/2.0). I use blanket stitch setting and Rasant/Gutermann thread. I really found it hard to change from hand-stitching to machine stitching. At first I was really bad at machine blanket stitch and I thought it ruined everything. Like anything else it takes a little practice to get it right. I’m still not an expert or perfect at machine stitching.

I would highly recommend an open ended foot (so you can see where you are stitching) and using a medium speed. Don’t go fast, it’s much easier to make a mistake when you are going too fast. Change stitch size to suit the shape. Don’t be afraid to stop, adjust the needle, and restart. Do everything you would as if you were hand-stitching.

Sometimes if the fabric is too thin or soft, the stitching will pucker. If it does you can use a little bit of lightweight interfacing on the back to stabilise the fabric. Try and use matching thread in the bobbin too. If I think of anything else I’ll post it here (or do a blog post). Have a lovely weekend, toni xx

      3. Thank you so much for your advice. I have never been a hand stitcher but am still learning about machine stitching and yours is certainly neater then mine. Oh well I will just have to do more so I get better. Thanks again and by the way I love your designs.
