Four Dollar Friday + Catching Up

It’s Four Dollar Friday folks! Paper Daisies is the PDF pattern of the week.  Paper Daisies would be a wonderful gift for a loved one this Christmas!  Pop on over to the website to get your copy for Aus$4.  I found this piccy in my old files :oD  The cushion pattern isn’t included in the pattern but is easily made using 2 1/2in squares and border strips.

This week has been super-busy.  The finishing touches are being added to the flower fairies quilt and I’m stitching like crazy to get the Homespun quilt done and off to the quilters.  I will be able to breathe again when this quilt is done.  I was stuck on the design and now I’m stitching against the deadline clock!  I’ve been asked to write the flower fairies as a six month block of the month pattern for one of our fantastic local stores.  I’ll keep you up to date with the progress of the BOM and reveal the details as we go along.

Sonia from Sewing Bee Cafe sent me a piccy of her finished A Merry Little Christmas quilt this week.  Isn’t it gorgeous!  The quilt is hanging in the store and you can buy the printed pattern and a kit for the quilt from the lovely Sonia by giving them a call on (03) 5971 5737.

The mailman was busy this week and I’ve got myself a brand new cutting mat *yay* and a lot of new supplies to keep me sewing and on my toes.  The best parcel of all was my copy of the brand new book by Lynne Goldsworthy and Kerry Green – 500 Quilt Blocks.  I’m looking forward to grabbing a cup of coffee and having a good read.  I would like to take some time out from appliqueing and make a new pieced quilt for my bed :o>

I managed to grab a few spare minutes this week to take a piccy of this month’s Birthday Club giveaway, which will be small pack of these Tilda fabrics plus a PDF pattern of your choice.  You can find the sign-up details on the website here.

Are you doing anything special this weekend?  We are still in the process of replacing our rotten front stairs.  Apparently there is no paint on Earth that will stick to the pre-primed timber so we have to sand the factory primer off and then repaint everything with proper primer.  I’d rather be sewing!  LOL

Happy Friday everyone, toni xx
